Recently, the renowned Hollywood actor Brad Pitt is caught in some legal issues. A Plano woman has charged him of failing to show up in paid appearances at fundraising events.
The lady is an owner of a recruiting company. She is from Texas, USA. Her demand is $100,000 in a Collin County district court.
Make It Right Foundation is Pitt’s non-profit Organization. It was founded in 2007. The main purpose of the foundation is to rebuild New Orleans’ Lower Ward after the tragic disaster brought by the Hurricane Katrina.
As per the accusations of the lady, Pitt has duped her of money. Pitt came to her in 2018 to seek help to raise money for the Make It Right Foundation. The purpose of the initiative was to provide some help to the victims of the Hurricane Katrina. This was how they met.
According to the agreement between the woman and Pitt, she was to organize some fundraising events and it was Pitt who was supposed to appear in these events and talk to the audience. But, unfortunately this did not happen because Pitt used to cancel his scheduled events at the last minute. As stated by the lady, she would also pay the travel expenses of Pitt according to the deal. As stated in the charges against Pitt, the woman made a payment of $40,000 to him over a period of two years.
After Pitt failed to attend a few scheduled charity events, the lady stopped making any payments. This action by the lady brought an end to their personal relationship.
The woman has charged Brad Pitt of breach of contract, fraud, fraudulent inducement, conspiracy to commit fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and unjust enrichment.
In response to the charges brought by the lady, Pitt has also filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit.
